2012-D Acadia National Park Quarter : A Collector’s Guide.  

The 2012-D Acadia National Park Quarter is part of the United States Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters Program, which was launched to honor national parks and other national sites across the country.  

The obverse (front) of the 2012-D Acadia National Park Quarter features the standard portrait of George Washington, designed by John Flanagan, which has appeared on all U.S. quarters since 1932. 

The reverse (back) design, created by artist Joel Iskowitz and sculptor Phebe Hemphill, features an image of Cadillac Mountain, one of the park's most recognizable landmarks.  

The 2012-D Acadia National Park Quarter was minted in Denver, and the “D” mintmark is located on the reverse side of the coin, beneath the main design.  

The coin was part of the America the Beautiful Quarters series, which began in 2010 and ran through 2021.  

The 2012-D Acadia National Park Quarter is composed of a copper-nickel clad mixture, which makes up 8.33% nickel and 91.67% copper. It weighs 5.67 grams and has a diameter of 24.3 mm, the standard size for U.S. quarters. 

The 2012-D Acadia National Park Quarter had a production run of approximately 72 million coins minted at the Denver Mint.  

The 2012-D Acadia Quarter is part of the third release in the America the Beautiful Quarters series, which features a different national park or landmark for each release.
