Sweet and Crunchy Banana Chips: Simple and Delicious.

Banana chips are a delightful snack that’s both sweet and crunchy, offering a healthier alternative to regular chips.

Made with just a few simple ingredients, these homemade banana chips are perfect for munching on the go or as a fun addition to your snack time. Plus, they’re naturally gluten-free and can be made with minimal effort!

Start with ripe but firm bananas—ideally, slightly under-ripe ones. Overripe bananas can turn mushy when fried or baked, so look for bananas with a yellow peel and just a few spots.

Peel the bananas and slice them into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick. Thinner slices will result in crispier chips, while thicker slices will yield a chewier texture.

For a touch of sweetness and extra flavor, mix 1–2 tablespoons of honey, maple syrup, or brown sugar with a pinch of cinnamon. Lightly coat the banana slices in the syrup mixture using a brush or by gently tossing them in the bowl.

Baking: Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C). Arrange the banana slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 2–3 hours, flipping every 30 minutes, until the chips are crispy and golden brown.

Frying: Heat a few inches of vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry the banana slices in batches for 2–3 minutes, until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Allow the banana chips to cool completely on a wire rack. Store them in an airtight container to keep them crisp. These sweet, crunchy banana chips are a delicious, naturally sweet snack that’s simple to make and perfect for satisfying cravings without the guilt!
